Tiger Woods ‘announcement’ isn’t happening

A much-rumored Tiger Woods announcement, scheduled for Monday morning, was an erroneous report, according to Woods’ agent.

Mark Steinberg was responding to rumors late Sunday that Woods was making an unspecified announcement Monday morning on Golf Channel.

Steinberg told The Associated Press on Monday: “There’s an erroneous report that he’s making an announcement, but he’s not.”

The supposed announcement launched the golf media world into a tizzy on Sunday night. One popular magazine posted a poll that asked users what topic Woods would address. Among the most popular choices was the golfer’s injured leg and speculation that he would address performance enhancing drugs in the wake of a guilty plea by Dr. Anthony Galea, who has treated Woods in the past.
