Bradley wins PGA in 3-hole playoff
Keegan Bradley is a rookie on the PGA Tour.
He sure didn’t look like one yesterday.
Bradley maintained ice-cold composure to top Jason Dufner in a three-hole playoff to win the 93rd PGA Championship outside Atlanta yesterday.
Bradley had trailed Dufner by five strokes in regulation. But the two went in very opposite directions down the stretch.
Bradly’s victory in his debut major ended an unprecedented run of six majors without an American champion. It was his second title on the PGA Tour this season.
Bradley holed a four-foot birdie putt at the first playoff hole, the par-4 16th, to hold an early advantage over Dufner who missed his attempt there from six feet.
Though Bradley could only par the tricky 160-yard 17th, where a large pond guards the front of the green, he found himself two strokes ahead after Dufner ran up a three-putt bogey.
