US soccer to face Ecuador

Klinsmann isn’t a fan of Bob Bradley’s scheduling.

United States national team coach Jurgen Klinsmann he never wants to play at Red Bull Arena on a Tuesday night again. Or for that matter, anywhere else.

Klinsmann replaced Bob Bradley with ideas to change the infrastructure of the game in this country. That includes when the games are played, an apparent sore subject for Klinsmann, whose national team played Saturday night in Miami and now travels up the coast to New Jersey to play Ecuador tonight.
“I definitely was not very pleased with that. I had no hand in those five games we were going through, Mexico, then L.A., Belgium — not a very good mixture here. Then those two games, with Saturday [then] Tuesday, those games were already scheduled before I came on board,” Klinsmann said. “Now moving forward I will have a say in the schedule. I won’t sign off games played Saturday [then] Tuesday.”

Ecuador, who qualified for the 2010 World Cup and have emerged as a powerhouse in South America, will test the United States — especially on a Tuesday night with just three days of practice in between games.
