The Live Feed: Patriots vs. Ravens in real time

2:42: Jim Rome attempting to class up his act with his jump to CBS. Not working.

2:52: James Brown’s hard-hitting 1-on-1 interview with the E-Trade Baby should be shown in Journalism schools across the country.

3:03: Mrs. McGillicutty’s English sheep dog from across the street, wearing a spangled Patriots scarf, comes out to sing the national anthem.

3:06: Finally, after a week of talk … we’re underway.

3:10: Three and out for Ravens. Pats get good field position at own 40.

3:11: Drew Bledsoe puts a jinx on New England by hugging Brady. Brady promptly pats the ball three times and looks flustered in the pocket.

3:12: Pats 3 and out.

3:17: Mark Anderson after pressure from Wilfork with sack on Flacco. Swear that the Patriots saved some of this scheming for the playoffs. Never EVER saw this amount of pressure in regular season. It’s like the Tampa Bay preseason game was the lithmus test for blitzing multiple players.

3:22: Looks like Edelman’s gonna be getting a lot of offense today. Nice diving catch at the 30.

3:23: Bernard Pollard with the INT off the tip. Called back. Huge break for the Pats.

3:26: Ray Lewis with solid coverage on Welker underneath as Pats settle for a field goal. 3-0 Pats in the first.

3:34: Wilfork with a sack on 3rd and 15. Unreal, the Pats defense just looks more aggressive.

3:38: Webb with the pick on Brady. In even more yahoo-ism, Brady takes risks in that part of the field.

3:39: Flacco badly underthrows Torrey Smith but still good enough for a huge pickup. Ravens with Uncle Mo on their side.

3:40: Michael Oher injured on the play. Insert weak “Blind Side” joke here.

3:44: Ravens in red zone and Cam Cameron looks overwhelmed. Though I’m told that’s how he always looks.

3:47: Legit tossup for more of a lame commercial: E-Trade baby or Geico caveman.

3:48: The old, “we’re the baddest on the planet” Ravens under Billick and Ryan would have gone for it. Harbaugh is smarter.

3:57: Some of that old, Ravens dumb-assery creeps in as Green-Ellis gets the facemask call. A play later, he’s in the endzone. 10-3 Pats with 10:35 left in the second.

4:07: Ray Rice with a great second-effort for 1st down at 10 yard line. First down Ravens as they close in on six and the tie.

4:08: Flacco to Pitta with the TD. 10-10 in what should become a great game.

4:18: Pats offense finding its groove with pass to Hernandez to bring them to red zone. Have to settle for FG but a good sign. Moving ball well against a great defense.

4:31: Welker muffs punt (sounds dirty) out of bounds as approximately 23 New England men over the age of 65 perish prior to half.

4:35: Pats up 13-10 at the half. Game is so good that all attempts at humor the rest of the way will be futile (aren’t they always?).

5:02: Gostkowski with a 24 yard field goal as Pats can’t punch ball in from the Baltimore 6. Missed opportunity. That’s the area Brady usually get the job done.

5:14: Flacco playing out of his mind. Thought the treatment of him this past week was a bit much. He’s not Brady or Manning or Brees or Rodgers. But he ain’t Tebow or TJ Yates either. 29-yard TD pass to Torrey Smith and Baltimore takes a 17-16 lead.

5:17: UH-OH! Woodhead fumbles on the kickoff and Baltimore recovers. Momentum CLEARLY in their favor.

5:24: Look at this! Pats defense showing some life! James Ihedigbo sack of Flacco to force a field goal. This hasn’t happened in many, many years for the Pats.

5:38: Brady marches team downfield and nearly breaks his back trying to dive in for the TD. Finally his offseason Brazilian yoga sessions with Giselle have paid off. Pats back up, 23-20.

5:43: Brandon Spikes with an interception!

5:49: Brady intercepted!

5:58: Wilfork with a huge stuff of Ray Rice on 3rd and 3. Ravens go for it on 4th down and don’t convert. Harbaugh must not trust Billy Cundiff from that far.

6:06: Brady unable to get anything going offensively. Looks like the old Ravens defense is having their last stand.

6:13: Flacco moving ball down field. Not good for Pats with time trickling down.

6:16: Flacco looks for Lee Evans in the corner of the end zone. SOMEHOW, little-known Sterling Moore gets his hand on the ball and saves the Patriots season for a few more minutes at least.

6:20: Incomplete pass leads to the Ravens having to take a FG with 15 seconds left.

6:21: Cundiff missed!!!! Cundiff missed!!!! Wide Left!!!!! Truly unreal as luck is back on the Patriots side.
Crazy how luck works in the NFL. For every Tuck Rule game there’s a “Sugar Bear Hamilton” game and a Helmet Catch game. The Pats haven’t had this type of stuff happen in a few years. This luck just may win them another Lombardi.

6:30: Love Bob Kraft, but he always manages to make part of the postgame extremely awkward. The Bledsoe double kiss is never warranted. See ya in Indy.
