Playing the Field: Ubaldo Jimenez bean ball, promiscuous NFL cheerleaders

This is what it looks like two seconds before Ubaldo Jimenez drills you in the ribs.

Spring training is all about getting in some work and fine tuning your skills for the regular season.

Unless you have something against a former teammate and feel like drilling him in the back and starting a fight.

Former Rockie, current horrible disappointment Ubaldo Jiminez chose the latter yesterday against his former teammate Troy Tulowitzki. Apparently the two have been sparring since Jimenez was traded to the Indians last season. Tulowitzki took the high road, saying he didn’t know if it was intentional. Jimenez said the pitch “slipped.”

Rockies manager Jim Tracy disagreed, launching into one of the better recent manager tirades.

“Five days before Opening Day, you’re going to take a pot shot like that? It’s the worst I’ve ever seen. I’ve lost all respect for him, and that’s a very difficult thing for me to say with all the players I’ve had to manage over the years. I’ve lost all respect for him, every bit. … Knowing what I know, knowing what took place last year, and where this team was at going into the second month of the season and doing what we did and he was nowhere to be found at the time … I’ve lost all respect for him.”

Hmm, a little cryptic there. Take a look at the bench-clearing incident (it wasn’t really a brawl):

In comes the bullpen! It’s spring training guys, calm down. The bench-clearing reminds me of one of the craziest spring training brawls of all-time between Guillermo Mota and Mike Piazza. Enjoy the memories people.

Hockey puns!

We’ll forgive you if you missed the Islanders-Bruins game this weekend and an all-time classic sign directed at Bruin star Tyler Seguin.

Now, we’re not exactly sure if this sign is legit as there has been a photoshopped (and much more NSFW) sign floating around online as well. The sign, with the quote “I wish I only got two minutes for hooking,” is pretty good as is. But the expression on Seguin’s face is classic.

Every teen’s dream

Metro does not advocate improper sexual relationships between 26-year-olds and 16-year-olds. But seriously, is this story not what every high school guy dreamed about?

Sarah Jones, a Bengals cheerleader, has been indicted for having an inappropriate sexual relationship with a former student at Dixie Heights High School, where she was also a teacher. I say “was,” because obviously she was fired. Right now the case is all allegations, so we don’t know what exactly happened.

And remember all you high school sophomores, don’t hook up with an NFL cheerleader. We’re sure the Cincinnati Enquirer agrees. I’m sure the fact that they included a photo galley (with two random pictures of Jones in a bikini) was merely a coincidence.
