Giants 2012 schedule released

Eli Manning.

The Giants’ 2012 schedule is out and ready to be perused by the anxious Super Bowl champions’ fans.

The opening game was already announced last month as part of the Thursday Night Kickoff. The Giants will face the Cowboys at MetLife Stadium on Wednesday, Sept. 5. As for the rest of the schedule, it is as follows:

Week 1 (Sept. 5) — Cowboys (Wednesday, NBC, 8:20 p.m.)
Week 2 (Sept. 16) — Buccaneers (Sunday, FOX, 1 p.m.)
Week 3 (Sept. 20)— at Panthers (Thursday, NFLN, 8:20 p.m.)
Week 4 (Sept. 30) — at Eagles (Sunday, NBC, 8:20 p.m.)
Week 5 (Oct. 7) — Browns (Sunday, CBS, 1 p.m.)
Week 6 (Oct. 14) — at 49ers (Sunday, FOX, 4:15 p.m.)
Week 7 (Oct. 21) — Redskins (Sunday, FOX, 1 p.m.)
Week 8 (Oct. 28) — at Cowboys (Sunday, FOX, 4:15 p.m.)
Week 9 (Nov. 4) — Steelers (Sunday, CBS, 4:15 p.m.)
Week 10 (Nov. 11) — at Bengals (Sunday, FOX, 1 p.m.)
Week 11 — BYE
Week 12 (Nov. 25) — Packers (Sunday, NBC, 8:20 p.m.)
Week 13 (Dec. 3) — at Redskins (Monday, ESPN, 8:30 p.m.)
Week 14 (Dec. 9) — Saints (Sunday, FOX, 4:15 p.m.)
Week 15 (Dec. 16) — at Falcons (Sunday, FOX, 1 p.m.)
Week 16 (Dec. 23) — at Ravens (Sunday, FOX, 1 p.m.)
Week 17 (Dec. 30) — Eagles (Sunday, FOX, 1 p.m.)

At first look, the schedule seems to open fairly easy and then finishes with a killer six-game stretch that could very well decide the team’s fate. Even the easiest of those final six games, at Washington, comes on the road. It also likely gives them their second look at Robert Griffin III.

The Giants are scheduled for nine national games, including five in primetime. They get their first taste of the new Thursday night schedule when they travel to Carolina to face Cam Newton in Week 3.

After the Bye, all six games except for Week 13 on Monday Night Football, are subject to change due to NBC’s flex schedule.
