Rangers drop Game 4 in overtime
Everything would’ve been fine if Game 4 had just ended after the first period. It was from then on that everything fell apart.
The Rangers scored two goals in the first and the Senators scored twice in the second. But it was an overtime goal by Ottawa’s Kyle Turris that won Game 4 for the Senators, 3-2.
The Rangers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first 6:10 of the opening period on power play goals from Anton Stralman and Marian Gaborik. Stralman scored on a long-distance wrister just 49 seconds into the game. Callahan scored just over five minutes later.
But in the second period, Milan Michalek and Sergei Gonchar tied it up. Craig Anderson was excellent in net with 31 saves for Ottawa.
Turris scored 2:42 into overtime to even the series, 2-2.
