Metta World Peace gets violent, throws elbow against Thunder’s James Harden
It’s been over seven years since the 2004 Malice at the Palace but some things in the NBA just don’t change.
Sure, Ron Artest has cleaned up his image since that time. He’s won an NBA title, hitting a huge 3-pointer against the Celtics in Game 7, and even went so far as to change his name to Metta World Peace.
But there was not anything peaceful about what transpired at Staples Center Sunday afternoon.
After the Laker formerly known as Artest threw down a dunk, he “celebrated” in typical Artest style.
But in the process of beating his chest, Artest’s elbow violently collided with the head of Thunder guard James Harden:
Given Metta World Peace’s history, this could warrant a big-time suspension from the league.
