Devils still alive after taking Game 4

Adam Henrique celebrates his game-winning goal with 4:31 left in the third.

They may be on life support, but the Devils aren’t dead yet.

Adam Henrique’s goal with 4:31 left in regulation was the game-winner in the Devils’ 3-1 win over the Kings in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup final. The Kings lead the best-of-seven series three games to one.
Game 5 is Saturday night at the Prudential Center.
Patrik Elias gave the Devils their first lead of the series when he scored the game-opening goal 7:56 into the third period. Parked alongside Jonathan Quick, Elias corralled a rebound of a Bryce Salvador shot and backhanded the puck into the net.
The lead lasted a full 62 seconds. Drew Doughty equalized at 8:56 with a power-play slap shot as David Clarkson was sat in the box for boarding.
Ilya Kovalchuk added an empty netter.
As he was through the first three games, Martin Brodeur was the best Devil on the ice last night. The 40-year-old unrestricted free agent to be stopped 21 shots, including seven in a second period in which the Devils did not record a shot in the final 13 minutes.
Brodeur did benefit goalposts eliminating two Kings’ chances in the first two periods.
The Devils did not score on their two power plays in Game 4. They are 0-for-15 in the series. The Kings were one-for-four on the man advantage.
Quick made 21 saves.
