Kentwool rolls out 19th Hole lifestyle sock to complement golf line

Kentwool's 19th Hole collection features more than a dozen colors and patterns.

True story: The first time I heard about Kentwool socks, and saw the price sticker, I thought, “I can get a six-pack of socks at Target for less than that.” Then I tried a pair and wonder why I’d been so cheap with my feet all these years.

Going back to 1843, Kentwool has a long history as a family-owned textile company, based in Greenville, S.C., and it was just a few years ago they realized they could start building golf socks. Wool, they knew, would be cool in the summer, warm in the winter and comfortable all the time. They’ve been a hit, growing rapidly and becoming popular on the PGA Tour with stars such as Bubba Watson and Matt Kuchar wearing the socks.

Now that they’re on the way to redefining what we all need in a golf sock, the next logical step was to take the best aspects of their Tour Profile ($19.95, ankle length), Low Profile ($19.95, no show), Tour Standard ($25.95, calf length) and The Graduate ($40, above the calf) and make a lifestyle sock.

Kentwool’s 19th Hole collection, which just hit the market in late August, is stylish and thinner than Kentwool’s golf collection. With colorful stripes and argyle (as well as solid if that’s your style), the 19th Hole work well at work, with a suit and dress shoes. Using the same Superfine Merino Wool and a proprietary blend of “Smart” performance fibers, these socks are extremely comfortable and good looking. They also resist odors and maintain the proper temperature of your feet. The 19th Hole socks retail for $28 and come in men’s and women’s sizes and both bold and subtle colors.

According to Kentwool: This full line of “clubhouse casual” socks emphasizes comfort, style and performance — and are engineered with the same care and attention to detail as their premier performance line.

The bright colors work well to add a casual look to the office, but also work well to bring some flair even in the stodgiest of circumstances.

Gone are the days of super-thin dress socks that leave feet tired and stinky at the end of the day. Give these a try and you’ll be praying a bundle show up this holiday season.
