Rolling Bryce

This is why we handcuff. It’s why we stash running backs just in case. It’s why we carry one QB, TE, K and D/ST most of the year. Because when we hit a big one at the RB position, it changes everything.

Bryce Brown did it again on Sunday night, impressively rolling for 169 yards and two more touchdowns on the ground. Anyone who has him has probably won the last two weeks.

So what now? Well, LeSean McCoy is still in Phase 3 of his concussion protocols. We certainly can’t count on him for Week 14. And with the Eagles in all-out evaluation mode over the final four weeks, we can’t be certain McCoy will play again this year. If he does, expect a pretty even timeshare with Brown.

The rest of the Week 13 fallout:

* Ryan Broyles’ ACL tear is big, especially because Titus Young continues to be banished from the team. Look for Mike Thomas to start outside, but the biggest beneficiary could be Tony Scheffler. The pass-catching tight end is looking at an every-down slot role the rest of the way.

* New Titans OC Dowell Loggins made an adjustment in his first game on the job, giving Kenny Britt and Jared Cook season-high snaps. There’s still upside with that duo.

* Brandon Lloyd can no longer be started in any format. Tom Brady doesn’t even look at him, let alone throw at him. Aaron Hernandez has a good shot to be the No. 1 tight end the rest of the way and Wes Welker is a hog on all WR screens.

* The Bills said Fred Jackson reassumed lead back duties from CJ Spiller because of the weather and style of the game. It is what it is.

* Tim Tebow is well worth a stash as Rex Ryan plots his next move after benching Mark Sanchez Sunday. Note that Tebow is nursing a rib injury. But if he starts, he’ll be a QB1 for me thanks to his running ability.

* Jordy Nelson’s latest hamstring injury is going to make Greg Jennings owners look very smart. Now Jennings can slide right in opposite James Jones and leave Randall Cobb to do his thing.

* Denarius Moore got benched on Sunday after a couple drops. Very hard guy to trust right now.
