Real estate porn: Homer’s Pond, in Martha’s Vineyard, is ridiculous

We’re calling this real estate porn because we can’t think of another term to describe the 314-acre oceanfront manse on Martha’s Vineyard’s south shore.
We’re calling this real estate porn because we can’t think of another term to describe the 314-acre oceanfront manse on Martha’s Vineyard’s south shore.

Ready for your daily dose of real estate envy? Here is a property so monumentally fabulous (and pricey) that we’re not sure who out there would actually be able to afford it. (Unless, you know, their last name happens to be Kennedy.)

But don’t feel inadequate, we’re right there with you. We’re calling this real estate porn because we can’t think of another term to describe the 314-acre oceanfront manse on Martha’s Vineyard’s south shore. The sprawling, beachy (if the word beachy can be used to describe a $118 million property) estate is called Homer’s Pond and, uh, we want it.

Buyers who don’t have that kind of spare change lying around can purchase parts of the secluded private wonderland in parcels: a 100-acre plot goes for $31 million; a 164-acre parcel on the eastern shore of the pond for $43 million or both for $74 million.

Everything about this dream property is huge. Amenities include a competition-quality tennis court (in case Andre Agassi stops by), a sauna, steam room, whirlpool spa, outdoor heated salt-water pool, and an underground wine cellar on its own 50-acre parcel that can hold up to 12,000 bottles (in case you’re throwing a Royal Wedding at your house). Did we mention that we want it?
