If you find the term “winter break” ironic because your kids are driving you nuts and you still have a ton to do before the end of the year, laughter can only help. Metro rounded up some of social media’s most popular moms and asked for their advice on how to survive the holiday season. Here’s what they had to say:

“Holiday fashion tip for moms: If wearing a red velvet jacket, keep your white chin hairs plucked. Otherwise a kid might sit on your lap. #metromoms” @WendiAarons

“It’s usually best if you wrap the gifts before unwrapping the bottle. #metromoms” @FunnyIsFamily

“Holiday tip #305: If you have toddlers, save time by breaking all your ornaments with a hammer before putting them on the tree.” @paigekellerman

“Forget the ‘Elf on the Shelf:’ I’m going full ‘Blair Witch’ on my kids and leaving them creepy little bundles of twigs in new spots every night.” @shriekhouse

“Pick a fight with some friends before the holidays. Fewer gifts to buy!” @marinkanyc
