The Word: “World War Z” has bigger problems than zombies

Brad Pitt

Even for a zombie film, things are getting messy on the set of “World War Z.” After rewrites, the price tag is inching towards $170 million, and the studio still isn’t happy with the ending, according to Vulture.

It’s so tense that Brad Pitt — who stars as a U.N. employee tasked with interviewing survivors after a worldwide zombie attack — is rumored to no longer be on speaking terms with director Marc Forster, who may be replaced for upcoming reshoots.

“They have to be careful, because the [Directors Guild of America] has strict rules that say Forster has to be there on the set,” a source a source tells the site. “But someone is likely to be brought in to help direct the new action scenes.”

The highly anticipated horror film, of course, has a history of trouble. Producers passed on shooting in Philadelphia — where the story is set, for obvious reasons, but the zombies are unionized — and instead set up shop in Glasgow, which has a pesky sense of hope in the air.

Suri Cruise signs up for knee socks

Now that she’s under Katie Holmes‘ watch, 6-year-old Suri Cruise will be attending an all-girls Catholic school in Manhattan this fall, reports the L.A. Times.

Suri, who was previously home-schooled, was rumored to be staring down a Scientology-flavored education before Holmes filed for divorce from Tom Cruise.

Thankfully, she’ll be safe from the clutches of Xenu at Convent of the Sacred Heart — if not from a crippling authority fetish.

Is he saying we’re not still 25?

“Community” creator Dan Harmon was famously fired from his quirky NBC series after years of low ratings and clashes with network execs. And while he blames everyone from his bosses to people who tune in to “The Big Bang Theory” (sue us — it makes the day hurt less), Harmon admits he could have been part of the problem.

“I feel like I am a good person and a professional very able leader of men,” he says in a strangely charming interview with “Attack of the Show.” “I also feel like I’m 25. I guess that has slowly changed without me realizing it. Maybe I am just a jerk.”

So yes, enjoy whatever little existential crisis this sets off in you. We sure did.
