Giuliana and Bill Rancic welcome their new son

And baby makes three.

Well, well, well, hello there! I’m back from maternity leave, 30 pounds heavier, covered in rancid baby milk cheese and raring to give you today’s dose of celebrity gossip. So what did I miss? Are Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson still totally in love? Does Chris Brown continue to be an upstanding citizen? Are Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise still Scientology’s “it” couple? No? Really? Huh. Next thing you’ll tell me is that the entire world over has seen Prince Harry’s naked, ginger tush drunkenly cavorting in a Las Vegas hotel room.

In any case, it is a pleasure to announce that today’s first item is a bit of good gossip –Giuliana and Bill Rancic are showing off their new baby boy on the cover of this week’s Life & Style. Named Edward Duke (someone’s been watching “Downton Abbey”), the baby came into the world via gestational carrier in late August. Giuliana, of course, has had a doozy of a past few years –she’s struggled  with infertility and had a double mastectomy in 2011 after a diagnosis of breast cancer — so this little bundle is a very welcome addition indeed. “I couldn’t believe that all those years of
struggling and the tears actually paid off,” Giuliana tells Life & Style. “Every shot, every doctor’s visit — in the end, when you’re holding your baby in your arms, you forget it all, and it’s worth it.”

Agreed. Enjoy that rancid baby milk cheese, Giuliana!

‘Traveling Pants’ make their way to South Carolina

“The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” gals put on their magical slacks and va-voomed (or however the sound of traveling pants goes) their way to South Carolina to see one of their co-stars get hitched. America Ferrera, Amber Tamblyn and Alexis Bledel, Blake Lively’s co-stars in 2005′s “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” and 2008′s “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2,” were all there to see Lively wed Ryan Reynolds in South Carolina over the weekend.

Even more details on that magical, secret wedding were revealed yesterday, including their vows. “They promised to support and love each other and to make each other laugh,” a source tells People in this week’s cover story. The groom “said he would treasure Blake; she said she would adore him. The whole time they were beaming.”

Just so we’re up to speed, as I’m sure this quickie wedding will be a continuing presence in this column: Blake is 25. Reynolds is 35. Reynolds married his first wife, Scarlett Johansson, when she was 23; they divorced two years later. Glad to see he’s learned his lesson and is getting into more mature women.
