The Word: A downward spiral for Amanda Bynes

Bynes’ booking photo from her April DUI arrest.

Amanda Bynes is refusing rehab, according to RadarOnline.com. Apparently her friends are worried she’s not “in touch with reality,” as if there is anyone in Hollywood who is. Still, this story gives me a touch of the sads.

A small refresher of her recent troubles:?The 26-year-old was charged last week with two hit-and-run charges and was arrested on April 6 for a DUI. On Thursday, TMZ.com posted pictures of the actress driving aimlessly around L.A. on a suspended license and smoking from a metal pipe from behind the wheel.

“Amanda is refusing to go to rehab or seek any form of psychiatric treatment or diagnosis. It’s clear something is up with her,” a “friend” exclusively told RadarOnline.

“She has been told by her agent and her dad Rick that she has substance abuse issues and needs to get help. She’s a lost little girl right now. Amanda’s completely gone off the grid. She won’t speak with her manager, her agent, her publicist; she’s not returning anybody’s phone calls,” the source said.

An actress who won’t speak with her agent or her publicist?  In Hollywood, there’s no worse indication that something bad is going down.

Quinto and Groff: Hot item

Zachary Quinto is opening up about his relationship with “Glee” actor Jonathan Groff, telling Out magazine, “I’m incredibly happy.” Quinto says he’s feeling especially good about being in a relationship following the death of his father. “I had to do a lot of work on the couch to really get to a place where I was able to show up to a relationship with someone who was actually capable of being in one — and that took a lot of trial and error,” he says.
