The Word: Today in ridiculous celeb baby names

Reese Witherspoon

The new trend in Hollywood baby names? Naming your child after a geographical location.

In the past month, Nick Lachey and wife Vanessa Minnillo named their baby Camden, as did Kristin Cavallari and fiance Jay Cutler. Next up in the locale-as-a-name trend? Reese Witherspoon, who gave birth to a baby boy named Tennessee James on Thursday. “Reese Witherspoon and husband Jim Toth welcomed Tennessee James into their family today,” her rep confirmed to People magazine. “Both mom and baby are healthy and the entire family is thrilled.”

For those of you who are keeping track at home (hopefully none of you), there’s also Brooklyn Cruz (son of Victoria and David Beckham), Bronx Mowgli (son of Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz), Egypt (son of Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz), Paris (daughter of Michael Jackson and some very well-paid egg donor) and India (daughter of Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky).

As for me, I’m holding out for a little Tajikistan Spears some time in the near future.

What if it’s all been a lie?

So much time, effort and column space has been spent dissecting the marriage (Demi is a cougar!) and the eventual divorce (Ashton likes young Vegas tail!) between Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher.
And you know what? We shouldn’t have. Really. As it looks like there wasn’t a valid marriage to begin with.

RadarOnline has a very interesting theory: They say the reason Moore didn’t file for divorce the moment Kutcher returned from Vegas — not to mention when he started his new relationship with Mila Kunis — is because they weren’t legally joined in the first place.

Sources close to the couple have speculated that when they got hitched during their Kabbalah ceremony in 2005, it was just a symbolic ceremony and not a legal marriage, hence no divorce needed.

Smart move, you two. Now there won’t be a long, expensive legal separation. But one downside? What to do with all of that leftover red string.

‘Sons of Anarchy’ star found dead, named suspect in murder

Johnny Lewis, an actor who appeared on “Sons of Anarchy” and an ex-boyfriend of Katy Perry, allegedly killed his landlady on Wednesday and then died after falling from a roof.

According to news reports, Lewis beat an 81-year-old woman he was renting a room from in L.A. When neighbors responded to her screams, he beat them with a piece of wood. He then climbed onto the roof of the house and fell to his death. Drugs are believed to have led to Lewis’ behavior.
