Vindication! Tiger Mother’s kid gets into Harvard

Harvard University and Princeton University are tied for the top spot

It turns out psychologically abusing your children is the right thing to do after all: "Tiger Mother" Amy Chua’s daughter has gotten into Harvard, and thus will never have to deal with pain or disappointment ever again.

18-year-old Sophia Chua-Rubenfield, who we are totally not making fun of because she seems like an accomplished and level-headed young woman, was reportedly accepted into the Harvard class of 2015 this week and is headed to Cambridge in the fall, according to Above The Law.

Harvard’s acceptance rate this year was the lowest in history. Only six percent of the 35,000 applicants were offered a spot at the prestigious Massachusetts university.

This happy news comes as a validation of Chua’s controversial parenting style, which involves putting children through rigid drills, screaming at them, and isolating them from peers. As we like to say at Metro: Life is a rat race, and one way to finish ahead of the other rats is by eating only the best brands of cheese.

Or, as Above The Law puts it, "You can criticize [Chua] all you want, but you can’t argue with success."
