Holly Glen in Burlington

The homes that will make up Holly Glen in Burlington are designed to appeal to everyone, of course. But Steve McKenna of Bowes Real Estate, which is handling the sales of the new development thinks that these single family houses have particular appeal to young urbanites in search of more space — and maybe even a garden.

“Especially those working in Burlington’s technology belt,” adds McKenna. “These homes are perfect for people who perhaps work all the time and are very career dedicated, because everything is done for them and they can spend their downtime doing things they like to do, not chores.”

By that, McKenna means maintenance of the development imagined as a “village” such as snow removal and leaf sweeping is taken care of via the Holly Glen Homeowners Association. Set off Muller Road, Holly Glen’s grand opening last Saturday offered potential buyers the first opportunity to pick from renderings of eight different layouts. The two- and three-bedroom homes range from 1,900 to 2,800 square feet and include two-car garages, gardens and decks. Buyers are able to customize the build-out, too. The first homes should be completed by fall.

“These come at a good time, when home inventory is low,” adds McKenna. “Couples who are thinking of selling, say, their condo, can plan ahead: Just put down a deposit and have somewhere to go.”

Living in Burlington
Harvard Square’s Pyara Spa and Salon has a sister Aveda day spa, Pyara Burlington, on the Middlesex Turnpike (www.pyaraaveda.com) while the huge multiplex just off the Turnpike scratches Hollywood itches. For casual, to-go snacking, the area boasts not one but two Clover food trucks (www.cloverfoodlab.com) — plus Clover’s first suburban storefront in Burlington Marketplace Plaza will be opening in late May. Or stop by Bobby’s Burger Palace, recently opened in Burlington Mall, Bobby Flay’s first Massachusetts location. For finer dining try garden-to-table eatery Summer Winter on Burlington Mall Road or, tucked away on Cambridge Street, hidden gem L’Andana, the sister restaurant to Boston’s Mistral, which serves Italian classics in a beautiful setting.
