Angels spill beauty tips at the Victoria’s Secret show

The Angels have some explaining to do. Based on their tips backstage at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, the perfect bod is just a glass of water and a few yoga classes away. We’re not buying it, ladies. As they glammed up and spoke out about their beauty routines, we couldn’t help but look for any traces real girl behavior. Spoiler alert: Someone ate fast food the night before the show.

How did you gear up for this year’s show?
I just tried to be more healthy, eat more protein and substantial food, cut out sugar and bread and stuff. Other than that, I just worked out more, and got focused.

What are some of your everyday beauty tips?
Taking care of your skin and always wearing a sunblock is really important, and having a good mascara and lip balm is a good, easy trick. Other than that, smoky eyes always look good.

What are you looking forward to most after tonight’s show?
Eating pizza with my fellow Angels. Me and Lily [Aldridge] are setting up this pizza party, it’s going to be awesome.

What’s your favorite part about doing the show?
I like that we get so healthy and so in shape. This time of year, I’m super healthy. I eat right, I work out, I eat lots of extra greens. It’s almost like — not a detox — but I’m taking out sugar and alcohol.

What happens after the show tonight?
I take it all back in. Welcome! I need French fries. I’m really craving them. I’m not really a sweets person, for me it’s French fries. I had some last night, though. Because my husband was eating Shake Shack, and I was like, “Excuse me, in front of me?!” And I was eating a kale salad with quinoa, it’s actually really good. It’s almost like we’re athletes, but in a different way. Athletes push themselves to reach a goal, to be faster. But we work on the body.

What’s your workout routine like?
I just started Ballet Beautiful with Mary Helen Bowers. When I first came to her I was like, “This is never going to work,” because I like hardcore workouts. I started doing it, and the results are similar to Pilates — you get definition, and you see muscles you never had before. I also love boxing with Michael Olajide.

What are  some of your beauty tips?
For me, it’s all about the skin. I think having beautiful, glowing skin is always amazing. I try to drink a lot of water; I drink tons of coconut water. I eat lots of avocado, salmon and stuff like that because it’s so good for your skin. I love Burt’s Bees makeup remover. It’s the best.

How is this year’s show different?
Last year I just had a baby, and the year before I was pregnant, so this year’s a lot calmer for me.

Reading anything?
The last thing I read was the “Game of Thrones” series.

What are some of your beauty tips?
I think it’s important to say on top of hydration for your skin, whether it’s just drinking lots of water, using a really good eye cream or getting plenty of rest. I also feel sexy with a tan, whether it’s getting a spray tan or laying out by the pool.
