New app replaces passwords with face recognition
We are an impatient culture. If a website won’t load in less than 10 seconds, we lose interest. We like our news in 140 characters or fewer. And now, that annoying 3 seconds of entering a password can be reduced to 1 thanks to a new app that can recognize faces. FastAccess Anywhere is a new app for iOS that allows users to log into password-required sites just by looking into the camera.
This new app works for your email, banking site and pretty much any other site you need a log-in for. The app works only by recognizing human faces, so someone can’t simply hold up a photo of you and expect to crack the code.
Another password-remembering app that’s gaining in popularity is RoboForm, which will automatically fill in the passwords for you. Users can download it onto their computer or use it on their smartphones. And just like that, you have three more seconds to spare.
