An Allegheny County woman was arrested early yesterday morning for allegedly assaulting her boyfriend of eight months with a Furby toy and a Sony PlayStation remote.

Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Fifth Avenue in Moon Township shortly after 1 a.m. for a report of a physical domestic fight. They were met in front of the home by a man who identified himself as William Ley, according to a criminal complaint.

Ley told police he was sitting on the couch when live-in girlfriend Ashley Trimmer began yelling at him. “William Ley states that Ashley picked up a ‘Furby’ toy and threw it at him, striking the right side of his face,” the complaint reads. “William Ley states that Ashley Trimmer then picked up a Sony PlayStation hand-held remote control and threw it at him, striking the left side of his face, causing an injury.”

The recording officer noted that Ley had a red mark and a swollen, bleeding bump on the left side of his face. Trimmer was taken into custody and is charged with one misdemeanor count of simple assault. She is currently imprisoned at Allegheny County jail in lieu of $2,000 bail, according to court documents. Trimmer is next due in court on Feb. 26 for a preliminary hearing.
