Temple alumnus wins Oscar gold for ‘Argo’
A Temple University alumnus struck Oscar gold on Sunday for his work on the film named Best Picture of the Year.
William Goldenberg, who graduated in 1981, won an Academy Award for Best Film Editing for his work on the film “Argo.”
Goldenberg also beat himself for the award. He was nominated twice in the same category for the same award. He was also nominated for his work on the film “Zero Dark Thirty.”
Altogether he has been nominated for four golden trophy’s. Goldenberg was nominated for “Seabiscuit” in 2003 and “The Insider” in 1999. This was his first Oscar.
Goldenberg, originally from Philadelphia, told the Los Angeles Times that his father wanted him to be a doctor, but he chose instead to develop his passion for film at the North Philadelphia campus.
