‘Clark Rockefeller’ murder trial gets underway in LA
Potential jurors are being interviewed today in Los Angeles to weigh the fate of the man who called himself Clark Rockefeller – the onetime subject of a national manhunt after he kidnapped his daughter from a Boston street in 2008.
Jury selection in the murder trial of Christian Gerhartsreiter is underway today in Los Angeles, according to the Globe.
Gerhartsreiter is accused of murdering his former landlord in 1985 and burying the body in the backyard of a home just outside of Los Angeles. The body was found about 10 years later.
Gerhartsreiter was sentenced to five years in jail for kidnapping his 7-year-old daughter during a supervised visit. After his arrest authorities learned that he was an international con-man who went by several names, including one that belonged to the prominent AMerican family.
