Hundreds to rally at Mass. State House in support of Gov. Patrick’s tax plan
Hundreds of advocates for state services are expected to rally today in support of Governor Deval Patrick’s plan to increase taxes and spending on transportation and education.
Patrick will join the rally-goers at 11 a.m. at the Gardner Auditorium to ask lawmakers to support his tax plan.
Organizers said they expect teachers, parents, small business owners, students, and senior citizens at the rally.
Advocates also plan to meet with their State Representatives and Senators throughout the Statehouse about the need for new revenue.
The rally was organized by the Campaign for Our Communities, a broad coalition of organizations and citizens who live and work throughout the state. The Campaign for Our Communities includes over 120 organizations, representing thousands of Massachusetts’ citizens.
