Feds to announce ‘investigative developments’ in Gardner Museum art heist
Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation will join officials from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and local law enforcement Monday to announce investigative developments, as well as what is being described as a publicity campaign relating to the infamous Gardner Museum art theft of 1990.

Today marks the 23rd anniversary of the theft, which is the world’s largest unsolved art heist to date.
In the early morning hours of March 18, two thieves disguised as Boston police officers entered the museum and stole 13 works of art, estimated to be worth $500 million.
Special Agent-in-Charge of the FBI’s Boston Field Office Richard DesLauriers and United States Attorney Carmen Ortiz are expected to attend Monday’s announcement, which is set for 2 p.m.
No further details have been released on the investigative developments.
