Man who killed father in front of son charged

The man alleged to have murdered a 45-year-old father in front of his 5-year-old son two days before Christmas is in police custody.

Jahmir Harris, 23, of the 1600 block of Ringgold Street, was arrested and charged with the murder of Louis Porter.

Porter was shot in the head while sitting inside his vehicle with his son outside a Walgreens Pharmacy at the 2300 block of Oregon Avenue on Dec. 23. Porter’s son was not injured.
