Brooklyn couple arrested for scheme to sexually abuse children
A Brooklyn couple has been charged with plotting to sexually abuse children. They were arrested at a hotel in Jersey City where they were meeting an accomplice who was supposed to bring three children to the hotel.
The accomplice was actually an FBI informant.
Bebar Baslan, 35, and Kristin Henry, 25, were going to drug and molest children, according to the FBI agent’s complaint, The Daily News reported.
The couple were expecting the accomplice to bring an 8-year-old girl, a 1-year-old and a 3-month-old boy on Tuesday night.
According to secretly taped conversations between the couple and the informant, Baslan and Henry planned to use over-the-counter drugs like Dramamine to knock the children out.
Baslan is also heard on the tapes saying he wants to photograph Henry performing oral sex on a child so that he could possibly use the photographs to blackmail her in the future.
Baslan said that he and his girlfriend had never abused any actual children before. He said to the informant, “I’m not looking for an actual thing to happen. I’m just looking for the pose of it.”
The couple faces 30 years in prison if convicted.
