police tape

A 47-year-old man remained in critical condition Thursday morning after he was shot in the head as he exited a car at 13th and West Butler streets in Hunting Park just after midnight.

No arrests have been made.

Philadelphia police were dispatched to the city’s Hunting Park section just before 12:30 a.m. on a report of gunfire. The gunman pulled the trigger after he and the victim exchanged words, according to police.

Police described the suspect as a black male, roughly 23 to 25 years old, about 6-foot-1-inch tall and 195 pounds with short hair. The shooter was clean-shaven and wearing a red shirt at the time of the incident.

The victim, whom police are not identifying, is being treated at Temple University Hospital.
