A bouncer at a North Station area bar was arrested after his alleged violent attack last weekend on a patron was caught on video and posted online.

Boston police said Monday afternoon that they arrested Sidney Phillips, 31, of Avon, and charged him with assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon (shod foot).

Officers responded to the Grand Canal bar at about 1:30 a.m. Sundayfor a fight in progress. When they arrived they found a group fighting in the street.

Witness and victims told police that a group of about 10 men and women were taking a picture inside the bar when one of them accidentally bumped into another woman. A fight broke out between the two groups and the bouncers brought them outside.

The victims told officers it was during that time and while outside the bar that Phillips kicked, punched and chocked them, police said.

Officers said they observed facial injuries to at least four people – two men and two women in their 20s. The four people were taken to Massachusetts General Hospital and treated for their injuries.

The short video clip that was posted on YouTube and on Barstool Sports shows a man taking a swing at Phillips. Phillips knocks the man’s hat off of his head while another man tackles the victim to the ground. At that point Phillips comes over and kicks the man near the head twice. He steps away for a moment then returns, lifts his foot in the air and then drops it down on the man’s head. A group of people then rush over to Phillips to push him away.

A woman who answered the phone at the Grand Canal said she was the manager and didn’t have a comment before hanging up on a reporter.

Phillips will be arraigned at Boston Municipal Court, police said.
