VIDEO: Nutter, Rendell rally for gun laws at Sen. Pat Toomey’s office
Mayor Michael Nutter and former Gov. Ed Rendell were joined by advocates from CeaseFirePA and other activist organizations Tuesday in a rally outside U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey’s office calling for Toomey to support universal background checks.
Thirteen conservative Republican senators delivered a letter Monday to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, threatening to filibuster a bill that would expand gun sale background checks.
Rendell said Toomey told him in a phone call Monday that he will vote to debate the legislation rather than hold a filibuster.
