Elderly food cart vendor stabbed to death in South Philadelphia
A food truck vendor was killed early Thursday morning during a brutal stabbing in South Philadelphia.
Investigators said the 69-year-old Asian man was loading his cart with supplies on the 400 block of Volmer Street near Shunk Street shortly after 5 a.m. when he was attacked.
A police spokesman said it appears the victim was stabbed “multiple, multiple times.”
He was rushed to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he died shortly after 5:30 a.m.
The man’s identity has not yet been released.
Some authorities reportedly believe robbery to be the motive for the bloody crime.
