(UPDATE) Stepson charged in murder of Queens man

Police have charged a 27-year-old Queens man for the murder of his stepfather.

Derek Tudor allegedly killed 60-year-old Frank Soucie. Cops discovered Soucie’s body buried in the backyard of the family’s Ridgewood home. Tudor turned himself in on Tuesday night.

According to a law enforcement source, Frank Soucie’s stepson, who is suspected of having murdered his stepfather and buried him in his Queens backyard, turned himself in last night.

Around 6:15 p.m. yesterday evening, an officer outside the 102nd Precinct noticed two men crying near the precinct entrance, the source told Metro.

The two men were later identified as Soucie’s stepson, and the stepson’s biological father.

The officer reportedly approached the men and asked if everything was OK, to which the father responded that they were there to turn Soucie’s stepson in.

When Soucie’s stepson repeated to the officer that he wanted to turn himself in, the officer asked what he was turning himself in for.

“Murder,” the stepson reportedly replied.

The cop asked where this happened and if anyone needed help, and Soucie’s stepson reportedly told him, “No, he’s dead.”

Inside the precinct, Soucie’s stepson reportedly told detectives he killed his stepfather at the address where the body was later found. After he was read his Miranda warnings, he told officers he killed him on April 21st. He began to cry, cops said, and asked to speak with a lawyer, ending the interview.

Soucie was reported missing by his girlfriend — the stepson’s mother — on April 28, cops said.

The stepson’s biological father, who was with him at the precinct, told police his son showed up at his house that afternoon and confessed to killing his stepfather, a law enforcement source said.

He and his son had not seen each other in about three years, the father told cops.

His son told him he had suffocated his stepfather. The biological father reportedly convinced his son to turn himself in and drove him to the precinct.

Police are still waiting on an autopsy before officially determined the arrest charges, a law enforcement source told Metro.
