LiveNation announces lineup for OneFund benefit concert ‘Boston Strong: An Evening of Support and Celebration’

mystery-band

UPDATE:
The OneFund benefit, ‘Boston Strong: An Evening of Support and Celebration,’ will feature Aerosmith, Jason Aldean, Boston, Jimmy Buffett, Dane Cook, Extreme, Godsmack, The J. Geils Band, Carole King, New Kids on the Block, James Taylor, and Steven Wright. It will be held at TD Garden on Thursday, May 30, 2013. Tickets go on sale Monday, May 6 at 10 am.

Metro’s original story is below.

When you hear the word “major” in conjunction with the words “benefit concert” what comes to your mind? When we got wind that LiveNation is presenting a major benefit concert for the OneFund, to be held at the TD Garden, at a yet TBA announced date, our brain wheels got to spinning all crazy-like. Hologram Adam Yauch?, we speculated. NKOTBSBOYZ2MEN??

Or perhaps an actual band we didn’t just make up, because we felt like it. The Rolling Stones, maybe. Hey, they just played that club show in LA. (Oh please let it be the Stones and not One Direction, even though that would be some cool symmetry with the OneFund and we sort of dig their songs despite ever adult, non-terrible fiber of our beings telling us not to. They’re catchy, ok?)

But we digress. The point is, there’s going to be a huge show with a bill featuring a huge name (or names, most likely names) at the Garden to benefit the OneFund. They’re announcing said huge names at a media-only event tomorrow night at the HoB’s Foundation Room: once we know, you’ll know.

Go on and post your guesses in the comments! Prize to anyone who comes close. (And by prize we mean you get to feel real good about powers of deductive reasoning.) GO.
