Prominent Philadelphia attorney’s girlfriend, 26, found dead in his home
The girlfriend of prominent criminal defense lawyer A. Charles Peruto Jr.was found dead Saturday inside his Center City home, officials say.
Julia Law, a Drexel University graduate who worked as a paralegal at Peruto’s Philly-based law firm, was found floating face-down and naked in a bathtub, police said.
“Julia was a beautiful, caring free spirit hippy, who I was blessed to have known,” Peruto said in a statement. “Words can’t express how sad I am to finally have met someone who I believed truly loved me. You should all have someone touch your life, like she did mine. Pray for her. She was an angel.”
Reports say Peruto, 58, was visiting the New Jersey shore when police pulled Law’s body from the tub.
Authorities say a maintenance man found Law’s body just around 10 a.m. Saturday.
She was pronounced dead shortly after she was found.
Law’s birthday is Tuesday. She would have turned 27.
