Police investigate fatal West Philadelphia triple shooting
Police are looking for the culprit who opened fire on a group of people hanging out on a porch in West Philadelphia on Thursday night, killing one and injuring two others.
A 21-year-old man died overnight from gunshot wounds to his chest, while a 15-year-old boy and a 22-year-old man are recovering at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
The shooting occurred about 8 p.m. on the 4900 block of West Thompson Street. The gunman reportedly fired his weapon into the crowd about 12 times.
Police on Friday morning identified the man who died from his wounds as John Carrington, who lived on the 4900 block of West Thompson Street. He was pronounced dead by hospital officials at 10:32 p.m.
The 15-year-old boy is in stable condition after being shot in his back. The 22-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot in his leg.
