A state trooper shot and killed a man in Quincy Friday morning.

State Police spokesman Dave Procopio told CBS Boston there was an altercation on Route 28 near the Milton line around 8:15 a.m.

Police received  a report of an erratic driver, and the trooper who responded got into an altercation with the man, according to the Patriot Ledger. 

The suspect was shot by the trooper and died upon arrival at Milton Hospital. His name has not been released, but the Ledger confirmed the man was from Southeastern Massachusetts.

Exit 5 from Route 93 has been closed for the investigation, CBS reports.

No further details were released.
