Police: Paul Leavy shot cab driver in West Philadelphia
Police are hunting for a man they say shot a taxicab driver in West Philadelphia last week.
Police on Tuesday identified the shooter as 27-year-old Paul Leavy.
The shooting occurred just before 10 p.m. on June 27 on the 200 block of South Farragut Street. A 33-year-old driver for Freedom Taxi was shot in his hand during a struggle with a robbery suspect, whom he had picked up on the 4800 block of Baltimore Avenue.
Police have identified the shooting suspect as Leavy, and on Tuesday released his photo in hopes someone knows where he is and can lead investigators to him.
Leavy allegedly robbed the taxicab driver of an unidentified amount of cash, a car key and his cell phone.
Police indicated Leavy was last known to live on the 4900 block of Florence Street and that he frequents the area of 46th and Walnut streets.
Anyone with information about Leavy’s whereabouts is asked to call Southwest Detectives Division at 215-686-3183, or dial 911.
