Man killed by MBTA train at Davis Square
A man in his thirties was killed early Saturday when he trespassed on inbound train tracks at Davis Square Station, MBTA transit police said.
The victim, who was not identified, had to be removed from under a Red Line train around 10:11 a.m. Saturday, causing service to be temporarily suspended in both directions between between Harvard and Alewife. Police said he suffered substantial injuries and was taken to Somerville Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Transit officials are investigating the incident, but have not indicated why the man was trespassing.
