SEPTA announces public forum for KoP project
SEPTA will hold a public forum next week regarding the proposed King of Prussia rail project.
The meeting will be held July 16 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Radisson Hotel at Valley Forge Casino, located at 1160 First Ave. in King of Prussia. It will include an open house-style information session to be followed by a presentation and public testimony session.
The rail project is proposed to achieve three main objectives, according to a document released by SEPTA.
- Offer improved transit connections to King of Prussia/Valley Forge area from communities along the existing Norristown High Speed Line, Norristown and Philadelphia;
- Improve connectivity between major destinations within the King of Prussia/Valley Forge area;
- Better serve existing transit riders and accommodates new transit patrons.
SEPTA and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) are preparing an environmental impact statement to provide increased transit service to the King of Prussia area.
