Man dies after Delaware police hit him with stun guns
Authorities in Wilmington, Del., are investigating the death of a man who died following a police pursuit Sunday night.
Police hit the 28-year-old Wilmington resident with stun guns several times, The News Journal reports.
Police began pursuing a car shortly after 8 p.m., but the chase was called off when speeds reached dangerous levels. Police located the suspect a few minutes later in the driveway to a business on the 1700 block of Wawaset Street.
Two police officers reportedly used stun guns on the suspect when he became combative. The suspect had a medical episode while seated in the back of a police cruiser, and was taken by ambulance to Wilmington Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
