Roosevelt Boulevard crash injures four, including two children
Four people were injured Saturday night – two of them young children – during a two-vehicle crash on the Roosevelt Boulevard in Bustleton.
Police said a 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander was traveling west on Woodward Avenue when, shortly before 10 p.m., the 18-year-old female driver attempted to turn south onto the Roosevelt Boulevard but misread the traveling lanes and instead turned north.
There, she allegedly crashed head-on into a 1999 Dodge Caravan that was being driven by a 28-year-old woman and carried two young passengers, a 7-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl.
Police said the 18-year-old driver escaped with only scratches and bruises.
The 28-year-old driver was rushed to Aria Health-Torresdale, where she was placed in critical condition.
Both juvenile passengers were taken to Aria Health-Torresdale, then transferred to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children for observation.
Police said Sunday the accident remained under investigation but that no charges had yet been filed in connection with the crash.
