A United States Air Force sergeant was arrested at Logan International Airport after getting into an argument with an employee over a private lounge and making a “pressure cooker” comment.

Jeffrey Sawyer, 30, of Cicero, N.Y., was charged with making a bomb or hijack threat, Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley’s office told the Boston Herald.

According to police, Sawyer approached a kiosk worker at the airport and asked about how he could get into the USO lounge. When the employee told Sawyer it was closed, he flew off the handle and began a “tirade” about everything including “the Marathon bombing, the military furlough program, and eventually implying that he had a pressure cooker in his backpack. And in doing so, he actually pointed to his backpack and said, ‘What am I supposed to do with this pressure cooker?’”

Sawyer was arrested and released on his own recognizance. There was no pressure cooker or bomb found in his bag, the Herald reported.

Pressure cookers were used to make the bombs that exploded at the Boston Marathon finish line in April.
