A Brooklyn woman who was shot to death in her home on Wednesday may have been killed by her ex-boyfriend, police said.

Cops are searching for Eric McCormick, 40, in connection with the shooting.

Police responded to the call about a woman shot inside the Chauncey Street apartment about 8:40 p.m. Wednesday. They discovered Sellis Gonzales unconscious and unresponsive with gunshot wounds to her head and torso, authorities said.

She was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

The victim’s mother told The New York Daily News that McCormick arrived at Gonzales’ home and sent her two daughters, 5 and 15, to a local fried chicken restaurant with $8 to pick up food.

When the girls returned home, they found their mother dead in a pool of blood.

Family members told the News that McCormick had abused Gonzales in the past, and that he was her ex-boyfriend. He is also the father of one of the girls, they said.

The suspect has 10 prior arrests in New York, including for robbery, assault, reckless endangerment and marijuana possession.

Police released surveillance video of the suspect walking to the victim’s home. He is described as being 5-foot-8 and weighing 225 lbs.

Anyone with information in regards to whereabouts of McCormick is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-577-TIPS. The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or texting their tips to 274637(CRIMES) then entering TIP577. All calls are confidential.
