Delaware State Police on Thursday arrested a Milton man who allegedly wouldn’t stop calling 911.

Troopers responded shortly before 10:15 p.m. to a home on the 15000 block of Coastal Highway.

Police said occupant Chad Tylecki, 33, made three calls within 10 minutes to the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center during which he threatened to harm a Lewes police officer in connection with an incident that occurred in the past.

Arriving officers made contact with Tylecki and told him to stop calling 911.

After police left, Tylecki allegedly continued to make threatening phone calls, not only to 911, but to the Lewes Police Department.

Officers again went to the home, where they said they found Tylecki on the roof.

An investigation allegedly revealed while the man was making calls to the 911 dispatch center, he was armed with a fully-loaded 9mm handgun and threatening to shoot any police officer that came to his house.

Tylecki is banned from possessing a gun due to a 2006 committal to a state mental hospital, according to police.

Authorities said Tylecki threw the gun to the ground after his father went up to the roof and made contact with him.

Troopers were then able to take Tylecki into custody following a brief struggle.

Tylecki was taken to Troop 7 in Lewes, where he was charged with malicious interference with emergency communications, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, resisting arrest and criminal mischief.

He was jailed at the Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of $6,750 cash bond.
