The building where a crane famously dangled precariously during Hurricane Sandy has run into some trouble again: Issues with a crane malfunctioning on that same building prompted police to shut down West 57th Street between Sixth and Seventh avenues Monday morning.

Police said reports of a stuck crane at 145 W. 57th St. started coming in about 11:24 a.m. The spokesman said the fire department arrived on scene at 11:30 a.m.

The crane was in the process of hauling 13,500 pounds of concrete when it stalled and needed to be manually lowered down to the street.

Police said there was no danger of the massive load falling, but the street was closed to pedestrians and cars while the concrete was lowered.

Police said no one was hurt and there was no need to evacuate nearby buildings.

After a tornado watch was issued Monday morning, the crane’s mechanical problems caused additional concern.

A spokeswoman said the Department of Buildings is still gathering information.
