‘Missed Connections’ from New York Comic Con

Superhero, fantasy, anime and sci-fi fans from around the country gathered at New York’s Jacob Javits Center this weekend to dress up, attend panels and meet their favorite celebrities at New York Comic Con. The event brings together people who are in their element and share similar interests – sometimes while wearing skimpy costumes. It’s no surprise that for some, the event invited creepy “Casual Encounters” posts on Craigslist, but for a few others, it meant unrealized romance.

We found a few missed connections on Craigslist for Comic Con attendees who lost their chance at love the first time around.

There was the guy who loves spandex:

“This is for the guy, white/latino(?) with brownish hair, in the spandex Riddler outfit at Comic Con on Friday. Your ass is f–ing incredible! I couldn’t stop staring at that perfect, round bubble butt! I wanted to follow you, but that would’ve been creepy.”

Yes, it would have been.

There was the guy looking for some Fairy Tail:

“Honestly, what’s the chance of you actually seeing this? You were cosplaying as Erza … I wasn’t thinking so I didn’t ask for any of your information. If by any chance you see this, hit me up, would love the chance to take you out sometime.”

And there was the guy who likes women who leave something to the imagination:

“You were a young 20-something female cosplaying as a medieval guard wearing amazing Chain mail and a large green wooden shield that almost covered your entire body. You had dark shoulder length hair and a very sweet and friendly demeanor … I was wearing a black t-shirt with a game of thrones cartoony graphic, jeans and have short hair.”

Good luck with that shielded heart, Romeo.
