Two Philadelphia police officers were hurt on the job early this morning in Kensington.
The officers sustained injuries making an arrest about 2 a.m. at H and Tioga streets, 6ABC Action News reports.
The two officers moved in on a burglary suspect, who was being tracked by Bensalem police, when the 41-year-old man allegedly intentionally struck one of them with the SUV he was driving.
The second officer grabbed onto the SUV in an attempt to grab its keys and was dragged approximately 800 feet. The suspect crashed the SUV into several parked cars, including an unmarked police vehicle, in the process.
Both police officers were taken in stable condition with minor injuries to Albert Einstein Medical Center.
The burglary suspect, who reportedly was also wanted for burglaries in Northeast Philadelphia, is in stable condition at Temple University Hospital.
