Depressed Chinese man cuts off penis, regrets it, cycles to hospital

It’s the oldest story in the book: A man upset with his love life takes his rage out on his penis.

According to a report (and an unsettling photo) by the Daily Mail, 26-year-old Yang Hu of Jiaxing, China on Sunday took his depression to a new level and cut off his penis, because he figured: no girlfriend, no penis necessary — right?

Wrong. Hu quickly regretted his decision and hopped on his bicycle to pedal to the nearest hospital. Except he was in such a rush, he’d forgotten to grab his severed manhood.

Upon arrival at the hospital, doctors ordered Hu to cycle back home to retrieve it. Unfortunately, by the time he returned from the undoubtedly agonizing journey, doctors were unable to reattach the organ because it had been without blood for too long.

Friends told media outlets that Hu was working long hours in a clothing factory in Jiaxing, and was convinced he had no use for his penis since he was unlikely to meet a woman.

Hu reportedly felt by removing it, he would be able to stop thinking about getting a girlfriend.
