Police in Boston and several other communities are searching for a man who investigators believe is responsible for robbing nearly two dozen convenience stores this year.

Cambridge police released information and pictures of the man on Friday. While no one has been hurt in any of the robberies, police said the man should be considered armed and dangerous.

The most recent robbery took place Thursday at a store in Everett, police said.

Three days before that, the man walked into a convenience store on Cambridge Street in Cambridge, lifted his shirt to show he had a gun and demanded money before fleeing, police said.

Investigators believe the man is responsible for 21 convenience store robberies dating back to February, but suspect he may be involved in others including ones in Jamaica Plain, East Boston, Lynn and Everett.

“Luckily no one has been injured,” said Cambridge police Commissioner Robert Haas. “We need the public’s help to identify and apprehend this suspect before these robberies turn violent.”

Police described the suspect as a black man, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and having a thin mustache.

Anyone with information can call 617-349-3300.
